Goodbye 2016, Hello 2017…

Well goodbye 2016, hello 2017.

This year has flown by and I can’t quite believe it is the end already; to be completely honest I’m glad it’s over because a fresh start is just the thing I need.

I can’t imagine that this year was great for anyone. The amount of celebrity icons that have tragically died this year has been horrific. Such legends that we will never forget.
I’m not going to write some sob story about how awful this year has been for me because quite frankly that would be unfair. There are so many people out there in this world who have risked their lives just so that they could get to a safe country. Since when did the world come to this?

I’m over in the corner crying because my parents decided to get a divorce but even I will learn to accept that it is for the better, even if I can’t see that right now.
But my point being that my life isn’t all that bad. Yes, I have things to overcome but my problems are minuscule compared to those living in poverty or living with life threatening diseases.

Generally I don’t ever stick to my New Years resolutions but for 2017 I am setting a goal that I will want to achieve. I want to help others. I’m not saying that so that people think I am a ‘good girl’ but because that is genuinely what I want to do. I want to know that I have made a difference. On Christmas Day I could help but feel guilty because I was receiving such lovely presents while there were people out there alone, on the streets, in hospital or fleeing their country. Next year I want to know that I have helped someone out there to have no worries for once in their life.

I hope everyone has a great 2017!

Happy New year!

My top five top tips to get organised!

Hello fellow bloggers/ blog readers….

I wonder…How on earth do I get organised?…

As you may already know from previous blog posts, I am moving house! Now one of the most annoying things about moving house is the putting away and the organising. You have to decide what to put where, colour scheme and many other things but I have tips to help you organise (you don’t have to be moving house – these tips work at any time in any place). I hope I can help you keep things neat and tidy.

I know that sometimes organising and tidying can seem quite daunting but I have five (yes, five!) top tips to help you get around this tedious task.

I do my terrible (not anymore after these tips) tidying on a regular basis, once or maybe twice a week, but there is no need for anyone to do it this often I just really hate my room when it is messy. I also enjoy tidying as it gives me time to reflect and think, I have a very creative mind and I like to daydream about things and tidying gives me the opportunity to do so.

#1 Put something on in the background, if you’re like me then you will like to have something going on. I usually watch some YouTube videos that I have already seen before. I put on a long playlist so that I don’t have to keep going back to change the video. If you have a friend that you like to chat to then you can maybe skype/Facetime them (try not to have long deeeeeep meaningful chats but something casual) just to have someone there or you can tidy together. Music is another good thing to put on and you can dance and jig whilst you clean. Try not to put on something that you have to focus on or you will end up actually forgetting to do the cleaning!

#2 Make your bed and clear your floor. If you do this then you will have more space to put things whilst doing a proper sort out. This will also make your room look instantly cleaner if you only have a few minutes; you will have more space to move around in and you can sit on your bed (always a bonus).

#3 Set yourself goals and rewards. This will give you something to work towards, or if you’re like me then your reward will simply be having a tidy room. On the other hand if you are like my sister, Katie, you might have to work towards a massive bowl of chocolate.

#4 Start by putting away the simple things, like clothes, what I mean by this is, put away the things that you know exactly where they go and you can put them away neatly and easily. After this you can then figure out where to put your other things in which spaces amongst everything else.

#5 Start a journal to organise your week, I use my diary/ journal daily as it keeps me in check. I know what homework needs to get done and what presents
need to buy for birthdays etc… There are loads of different diaries out there, you can have a paper copy or an online calendar or both! This time of year especially is a great time to have a diary so that you can keep track of all those present!

I hope these help you become better at tidying and organising…

Good Luck!

November Faves…

Hello fellow bloggers/Blog readers,

I wonder… what did I love in November?…

It’s time for my November favourites, I’ve never done a blog post about the things I have been loving each month and I think its about time I jumped on that train and joined in. I hope you can be inspired to think about the things you have been loving in this chilly November.

To start off I would love to say a word or two about Benefit’s Porefessional. This might be a bit TMI but I have very open pores that can easily be clogged and this pore filler really helps keep my pores clean and empty. This primer lets my foundation glide smoothly over my skin with no lumps or bumps.I tap this onto my ‘problem areas’ before I apply my second primer and foundation. I would really recommend this if you have easily clogged pores.

My next favourite is the ‘Zoella Lifestyle On My Travels bag’. Now I am not just saying this because I am a crazy fan but because the bag is genuinely what I have been looking for, for quite a while now. Anyway, the bag comes with a gorgeous travel mug, a keyring and some adorable pencils. I use this bag for shopping, travelling and anything under the sun. In my opinion it is like Mary Poppins’ bag as there is never-ending space inside! It is a great bag for anyone who needs to carry a lot of things with them.

Last month I also loved my MAC lipstick in the shade ‘cosmo’, which I believe is an amplified creme (the texture). As described in the formula it is very creamy and moisturising. It is a pretty nude shade with hints of pink running through it. this has been my go to lipstick throughout November as it goes with pretty much anything.

My next favourite is my new laptop, I won’t say too much but I did get my dream present for my 14th birthday. I was very luck to have received a macbook air, this is not only amazing for me but it also means there will many more blog posts than before, so happy reading!

Another thing I have been loving is Benefit’s Roller Lash (I know another Benefit product…). I have very short, stubby and practically non- existent eyelashes that never hold a curl. I find that this mascara lifts my lashes beautifully and holds the curl all day, as well as this it really lengthens them and when I say really, I mean REALLY. (The picture is of the sample size version – I got it in a birthday pressie with a bunch of of other things.)

My final favourite isn’t actually a physical thing, I have just been loving writing! It is something i have really loved doing and for me is quite therapeutic as I can indulge myself in what I love and get lost in a story or piece of descriptive writing. I know that english and writing isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but, even if it’s no through writing, you should spend some time to do what you love.

What have you been loving? I would love to know! Tell me in the comments…

P.S I hope you have a lovely December and have fun opening your advent calendars, I’ll be sure to review mine after christmas! There won’t be many christmassy pictures on my blog until around the 14th as I am moving house! I’ll try my best though! Xx

Hello fellow bloggers/blog readers,

I wonder… What have I been up to?…

Guess who’s back, back, back, back again, again, again….Too cheesy?

If you hadn’t figured it out already, I am back to apologise again! Now this time I promise I have ACTUALLY been busy. I have completely redesigned my blog as I was not happy with the way it was before, hence the lack of motivation to write. This has taken me quite some time, I appreciate that some people can alter the way a blog looks in an instant but I am definitely NOT that person.

I do have other reasons and I hate to not be able to tell you them but some parts of my life are private, unlike my condition. To put it simply, I will be living in two houses for one reason or another.

In more recent news, I can do my own injection now! Yayyyyyy!

This was a bit of a ‘short but sweet’ blog post as I don’t have much other to say than, I hope you like the new layout.

Where Have I Been?

Where have I been- (1)

Hello fellow bloggers/blog readers,

I wonder…Where have I been?…

I think it is about time that I get back to blogging. I had a bit of a break, not because I didn’t want to blog or anything but from March to now I have been extremely busy. I feel like I should probably justify this, just so you know:

I have had to learn 3 scripts for 3 different performances.

I have had what feels like countless hospital visits.

I have had to revise for 3 science tests, 2 maths tests, 2 English assessments, 1 history essay, and 1 massive RE assessment.

And last but not least I had a little trampoline accident and therefore I have broken my ankle. (It is still currently broken – so much for my summer plans). I am very lucky to be getting the boot off the day before my holiday (hopefully).

But aside from that I have missed my blogging and I have received many lovely comments from my readers and I think I should give you something back.

I have started my another tablet, which I don’t know much about other than it will help with my growing.

Now enough moaning from me, I want to know how you have all been. Please do leave comments, I love reading and replying to them! How have you been? What are you planning to do this summer?

Has anyone noticed my blog redesign? I think it much more me and more grown up as after all I am going to be 14 soon. What do you think of the new look?

Never stop wondering…

Sorry... ...Again

Hello fellow bloggers/blog readers,

I wonder…will I be able to stick at my blog?…

Sorry…again for not writing many blog posts, some may say they are late but I say ‘A Queen is never late, everyone one else is simply early.’ – The Princess Diaries.

I have been very busy during April, I went on a school trip to a PGL camp in Shropshire over the course of four days, including the weekend. This then meant that I had to get as much homework done before the trip and then I had to catch up on more homework afterwards. As well as this I was absolutely knackered and by the time it turned to May I had only just about recovered.

There was one useful piece of information I thought I should mention from the trip (you might be thinking ‘What?’ but stick with me here). My medicine has a big effect on my blood sugars, about an hour before I am due to take my medication (5:30-6:00) I get sleepy, weak and hungry (my blood sugars drop). I had to wait until we got home to take my medicine, we were due to get back to school around 6:00, that wouldn’t have affected me too badly, unfortunately the coaches were 2 hours late and we didn’t get back to school until 8:40. We weren’t allowed to eat or drink on the coach but I was given special permission and I had to keep eating and sipping an energy drink as I was not staying awake..etc..etc. By the time I had taken my medicine it had gone 9:00.

This had been the first time where I was caught in a situation like this and it really took its toll for the rest of the week. On Tuesday I came home from school, Wednesday I nearly fell asleep during my science test (on which I then got a bad mark), Thursday my teachers kept asking if I was alright, Friday I had a headache, Weekend I slept…a lot.

I also have seemed to be getting headaches when I turn my head in certain positions. Luckily I am going to see my consultant (and a special London doctor) on Thursday this week and we will ask them about this.

I would like to add in that my blog posts will probably be very inconsistent as being a 13 year old school girl I do not have much time for things like writing blog posts. (I want some me time too- you know, for things like, calculating how much money I saved in my birchboxes, brushing my hair, watching YouTube, having personal debates with myself, emptying my busy email inbox- 3 emails 😉

Never stop wondering…

P.S have you spotted the change in my blog? 😉

new brushmarker review

Hello fellow bloggers/blog readers,

I wonder…what is a Brushmarker?…

A Brushmarker is a pen (well done Amelia…) with a brush tip (really…) the ones I have are made by a brand called Winsor and Newton (they used to be Letraset but they were rebranded). Unfortunately they aren’t the cheapest markers, but fear not Amelia is here to save the day! I like to get mine from a store called Cass Art, not only can you get them in the UK but also for a great price.

The markers are alcohol based meaning that you can layer them without tearing up the paper like water based markers would. The pigmentation (colour quality) of the ink is spectacular, with just one coat of ink you can create a solid base with no white peeping through.

The markers are dual ended, one end being a brush nib the other being a chisel nib. Personally I prefer the brush end as it is way more fun and you can create a good variation of line weight. The barrel is nice and firm and has a sticker covering it with the colour name and colour number. E.G Maroon M544. The caps are shaped differently on both sides, the brush end having a pointy cap, and the chisel having a round, flat cap. This helps because you will quickly learn which end is for what. On the flat end there is a sticker with the colour number and it says brush underneath so that you know it is a Brushmarker. On the pointy side there is a tip sticking out to help stop your pens from rolling away.

Untitled design (2)

There is another variation of this pen and that is the Promarker, it started off just being the Promarker and then later extended to Brushmarker too. I own a few Promarkers in the colours that aren’t available in the Brusmarker. Promarkers come in 148 colours and Brushmarkers come in 72. I own 31 coloured pens including Promarkers and I own one Brushmarker blender pen. Both types of marker also come in sets if you want to buy in bulk.

I have always wanted Copic markers (I have 5 pens and 1 liner) but they are very expensive and It is difficult afford them, however these markers are an amazing alternative, the only downside is that you can’t refill them.

I have been colouring Johanna Basford’s ‘Secret garden’ colouring book artist’s edition (you can pull out the pages and frame them). I would colour in her normal books but the colour seeps through onto the other side of the page whereas the pages in the Artist’s Edition are thicker and not double sided.

I hope you go and try out some of these markers as they are fantastic! I certainly will be buying some more in the future when I’ve saved up!

Growing update

Hello fellow blogger/blog readers…

I wonder…will I ever grow…

Recently I have been feeling rather down about myself, you know my height and body shape. But then I realised why should I be looking on the bad side of everything when there is a good side (I mean I even wrote a blog post on it).

I have actually started growing! My shoes are becoming small and I have already had to buy a new pair of snazzy converse. Myself and my parents have noticed that I have definitely gotten slimmer. Good news…right? I have also found a secret (not so secret once I tell you) weapon that reduces bruising very well and my stomach is almost bare. Arnicare cream was the answer to all my bruising problems, if you are going through something similar to me then I would definitely recommend trying it out.

I haven’t much other than that to fill you in on so I hope you don’t mind a rather short blog post. I would also like to apologise for the late posts, February and march have been very busy months for me and have had no time to write.

Keep wondering…

Birchbox Review…

Birchbox Review...

Hello fellow bloggers/blog readers,

I wonder…What is birchbox?…

A while ago now I ordered a Birchbox as I had seen adverts for it and I generally wanted to try it out. Birchbox is a subscription to a Beauty box in which you receive 5 High end beauty products. The box is only £10 a month, the products you receive are sample size but they will still last you a good amount of time. The first box I bought was the February ‘Shine bright like a diamond’ box.

This is the box with all your goodies inside!
This is what you will first see in your box.
Here are the products that you have received.

Lumiere d’hiver super comb prep & protect
The first item I saw was the ‘Lumiere d’hiver super comb prep & protect’ it is a hair care product that is supposed to strengthen and de-tangle hair. I have to say that this works miracles on my hair because it is long and very thick. It often gets in knots and I get split ends easily. I spray this miracle-maker on my hair when it has slightly air-dried and then I brush it through my hair to make sure it reaches every strand. After this I use a hairdryer to dry my hair and then sometimes go in with my straighteners. (I know using heat isn’t great for your hair but when my hair is straightened it is soooooooo much easier to manage.) After I have done my last few steps my hair is super soft and tangle free. This also smells of sherbets so you will have the best hair all round! This might not be useful to everyone but I am sure that any of my thick hair buddies out there would really appreciate this!

Pommade Divine, Nature’s Remedy Balm
The next thing I found was the ‘Pommade Divine, Nature’s Remedy Balm’ this is a Very amazing remedy balm that helps with chapped lips, spots, dry patches, cuts, bruises- you name it, it will do pretty much anything to help your skin out. I have been using it on my pesky stubborn spots to get rid of them and it has worked a charm. I put it on after I have done my night time skincare routine and then I go to sleep and when I wake up I can really see a difference. I didn’t really want to use it for chapped lips as I think it is a little bit sticky, but I have seen loads of people on the reviews using it for their lips. Anyone out there like me who has to have an injection every night, then I think you would find this useful for clearing up bruises. Or if your looking for something cheaper to get rid of bruises try arnicare cream, it clears bruises like there is no tomorrow.

Only fingers + toes nail varnish
The third product I saw in my box was a bright red nail varnish by ‘only fingers + toes’(full size). This was your typical polish, it applied in two coats and then chipped moderately as you would expect with a normal nail varnish. Whatever you do with this nail varnish or any for that matter is accidentally knock while in weird yoga positions trying to paint your toenails. I stupidly knocked mine over and then turned around to a pool of red varnish- great!

Spectrum make-up brush
The fourth thing I received was a ‘Spectrum’ make-up brush (full size). First of all I would like you all to appreciate the amazing colours of this brush. I think this brush would be great for applying powder in you T- Zone and highlighter on the tops of your cheeks. The size is great and this is probably a great feature in an Instagram photo…who knows?

LOC one and done shadow stick in the shade Perfect Scents
The fifth item I discovered was the ‘LOC one and done shadow stick’ in the shade ‘Perfect Scents’ (full size). There was an option of which colour you would like and I went for ‘Perfect Scents’ which is a gorgeous goldy-coppery shade. I haven’t yet tried this out but I have seen many good reviews of it and they all say that is blends and stays well however the colour is quite subtle. I can’t wait to try it out though!

Grab & go pony hairband
The last thing I received was a ‘beauty bonus’ and it was the ‘Grab & go pony’ hairband. I was a little bit disappointed to have only received one but I did steal my mum’s as she received the box a birthday present. The one in my box was brown and a medium thickness (whereas my mum’s was silver and quite thick which I actually prefer). This is the best hairband I have ever had, it holds my hair up all day and does not tug or pull on my hair. As I have already mentioned I have thick, heavy hair so it is amazing when my hair can last all day in a hairband. I have noticed that some elastic has started popping out of my brown band so I hope it doesn’t break!

I will definitely keep purchasing Birchbox and I have been very impressed with what I have received. I am very excited for my next box as I know there are a guaranteed two full sized make-up items! Here is a link to where you can get £5 to spend in the birchbox store if you subscribe, you only get the £5 if you click on this link though.

Never stop wondering…
